Wildflowers

This last winter we cleared out the area behind 7 green.  It was a group of trees with branches that were nearly down to the ground and was a dump area for many years.
We reclaimed the area and recently planted the area with wildflowers.  We are hoping to get some germination even though the area is heavily shaded. I will post an update later in the year if we do get some activity in the area.

Indian Summer Field Trip

This Friday we had a visit from Pope John Paul II Highschool.  They had a field trip to the course to learn about plants. It was a great trip I think I was able to open their eyes about golf course management.  They couldn't believe that the green was real grass and they had fun wondering the putting green looking for a place to pull their samples.  Their assignment was to sketch to different kinds of grass plants.

A special thanks to The First Green. They were able to connect the school with us. Also, I would like to thank their teacher Dick O'Conner.

Indian Summer Pictures

Here are a few pictures of the course during the nice weather we had this last week.  The course is coming along as the season begins.  Unfortunately the weather did not hold for very long, but it was a nice stretch.
